Held at the Auditorium of Politeknik Statistika STIS on May 17th, the Student Representative Council (DPM) successfully organized Futuristis 2024, an event themed “Resolution: Unite to Respond, Cultivate Aspirations”. Coordinated by Rizky Saputra, Chair of the Futuristis 2024 organizing committee, the event aimed to gather students’ aspirations—either through an aspiration box or messages conveyed via DPM members—which were then discussed with the management to collectively determine the best steps forward for the advancement of Politeknik Statistika STIS.

Futuristis was fully supported by all parties, with representatives from the academic community actively participating. Attendees included Dr. Erni Tri Astuti, M.Math., Director of Politeknik Statistika STIS, along with her staff, lecturers, student organization representatives, class leaders, and general students.

This event aligned with the GASS YUK program (Sports and Casual Discussions as Efforts for Togetherness), part of the Change Agent Network (CAN) initiative at Politeknik Statistika STIS. The event began with a morning workout session to energize participants, followed by a well-executed sequence of activities, including a report by the Chair of Futuristis, speeches from the Chair of DPM, and remarks from the Director of Politeknik Statistika STIS, delivered by Dr. Yunarso Anang, Ph.D., Vice Director III for Student Affairs.

Prof. Setia Pramana, Ph.D., Vice Director I, noted that generational differences between academic staff and students often lead to varying perspectives, and therefore Futuristis provides a valuable platform for dialogue and mutual feedback. The aspirations gathered were categorized into three sub-themes: academics, administration, and student affairs.

One particularly noteworthy academic suggestion was the idea to establish a new study program focused on the environment, considering that Statistics Indonesia (BPS) has three main areas of activity, one of which is the Agricultural Census. This idea was positively received by Dr. Azka Ubaidillah, SST., M.Si., Head of the D4 Statistics Program, who mentioned that several lecturers at Politeknik Statistika STIS are currently pursuing studies in environmental fields, making the opening of a new concentration feasible.

A similarly positive response came from Mr. Bambang Nurcahyo, S.E., M.M., Head of General Administration, in response to administrative concerns. He expressed his gratitude to the students for their attention to both the academic and facility-related aspects of Politeknik Statistika STIS. He emphasized that these aspirations serve as valuable reminders to address existing shortcomings and enhance the quality of current systems.

Futuristis 2024 concluded with a presentation of the 2024–2029 strategic plan draft of Politeknik Statistika STIS by Dr. Erni Tri Astuti, intended to inform students and invite their input.

Overall, the event was seen as a meaningful form of collaboration among the academic community, fostering open dialogue on academic, administrative, and student-related matters—an essential step toward building a more excellent and high-quality Politeknik Statistika STIS.
