The Head of LSP Politeknik Statistika STIS, Dr. Arie Wahyu Wijayanto, M.T., reported that the LSP Politeknik Statistika STIS is a First-Party LSP for Polytechnic/Vocational Institutions, established on September 6, 2021, under Politeknik Statistika STIS, a higher education institution under Statistics Indonesia (Badan Pusat Statistik/BPS). The LSP also received official support from the Indonesian Statisticians Association (Ikatan Statistisi Indonesia/ISI) as part of a tripartite collaboration between BPS, ISI, and the Statistical Higher Education Forum (FORSTAT).

LSP Politeknik Statistika STIS has gone through a long journey since its establishment in September 2021, and has now reached the licensing assessment stage. Politeknik Statistika STIS currently has two certification schemes verified by BNSP, namely the Data Scientist scheme and the Associate Data Scientist scheme, both of which are designed in alignment with the graduate profiles of the D3 Statistics, D4 Statistics, and D4 Statistical Computing programs.

In addition, 20 lecturers of Politeknik Statistika STIS have obtained BNSP competency assessor certificates, and 27 lecturers are certified as either Data Scientists or Associate Data Scientists by BNSP. All existing certification schemes refer to the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) for Data Science and the Occupational Map for the Data Science field issued by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo).

Looking ahead, it is hoped that more certification schemes aligned with graduate profiles—such as Data Analyst, Data Engineer, and others—can be added for students of Politeknik Statistika STIS.
