The turn of the year hasn't dampened the enthusiasm of Polstat STIS students to once again bring honor to their alma mater. As evidenced by the success of five Polstat STIS students, they won the 2019 UI Mathematics (Logic) Competition and Activities on Sunday (January 27th). Almira Ajeng Pangestika, Rizka Ayu Damayanti, and Muarrikh Yazka Ginang, who formed a team, won first place in the mathematics scientific paper competition. Meanwhile, Uswar M Al Ghifari and his teammate, Muhammad Aldian Samarul F., won third place in the Statistics Team Competition (STC).

These two teams, currently in the midst of their fourth-year academic year, remain determined to achieve. For Almira and her team, the scientific paper competition, themed "Mathematical Harmony in Solving National Problems," serves as both a learning tool and a platform for practicing their thesis writing. Regarding the STC competition, which involves solving problems in statistics, covering topics such as probability, mathematical statistics, combinatorics, and data processing, Uswar and Aldian admitted that their preparations were not yet thorough. In the semifinals, he said that his team felt fortunate for their results.

At the end of the session, the two winning teams in the 2019 UI Logika event shared tips for achieving success. Confidence and total commitment to their work were their main priorities. "As long as you have the will, try and do your best," Uswar advised.
