The D3 Statistics Study Program and D4 Statistical Computation Study Program of Polstat STIS conducted a comparative study to the D3 Applied Statistics & Computation Study Program (Staterkom) of Semarang State University (UNNES) on December 6, 2019. The visit, led by Dr. Hardius Usman, Deputy Director I for Academic Affairs, was conducted to obtain information from universities with relevant study programs accredited with UNGGUL (A) regarding the implementation of teaching and learning activities (KBM), especially for courses with practicums, including student Field Work Practices (PKL).
This comparative study visit was received directly by Dr. Sugiyanto, M.Si., Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and Dr. Masrukan, M.Si., Deputy Dean I for Academic Affairs. The next visit was to the Mathematics Department of FMIPA, which was received by the Head of the Mathematics Department, Dr. Mulyono, M.Si., along with the Head of the Mathematics Laboratory, Drs. Arief Agoestanto, M.Sc., and the Head of the Diploma 3 Applied Statistics and Computation (Staterkom) Study Program, Dr. Iqbal Kharisudin, S.Pd., M.Sc. The Diploma 3 Staterkom Study Program is part of the Mathematics Department at UNNES.
The comparative study discussed several issues related to the curriculum and teaching and learning activities (KBM), including the credit load required by students, the implementation of courses with practicums, including internships (PKL), the lecturer workload (BKD), and the information system used for monitoring and evaluating teaching and learning activities. The comparative study yielded several positive insights that can serve as references for strengthening and developing the study program at Polstat STIS in the future.
